I probably could have felt it coming, waking up Friday morning with a sore neck and stepping over and around 4 girls sleeping on the floor in the living room as I tried to get my son off to swimming practice.
Logging onto Facebook made it a little more clear why I had a sore neck, photos of the aforementioned girls and my son and myself, doing cannonballs into the swimming pool. Oh, and look at this one, it has my 55 pound niece sitting on my 125 pound son's shoulders, who is sitting on my shoulders in the pool.
I joined the circus?
Nope, just had my 3 nieces sleep over. I'd post the photos but they aren't on this computer.
Maybe another time...if.....
All the weird electrical gremlins that shared the last few days with me leave. It started happening on New Year's Eve, the electrical transformer for the old Nintendo GameCube stops working. Then the sensor bar for the old Wii (still plays GameCube games so we let my son keep it in his room) stops working. Then later on my daughters power adaptor for her laptop stops working.
It keeps going this morning, I am getting ready to work out (and no, more exercise isn't a New Year's resolution, and as I said on Kae's blog, I'm not trying to lose weight, just trying to look better naked....not that anyone will see anyways... ;) ) and my iPod, which has been sitting on the docking station that charges it since 10:00 AM yesterday...is dead. That power adapter isn't working either!
Last night I was messing around a little online, the kids were doing their own thing, the spouse napping so she could stay up until midnight, and I found myself invited and then playing a game of "Words With Friends" on Facebook...and it was the first person I ever took on a solo date, you know, when you are old enough to drive....and you have to pick her up...and meet her parents...lol. Just adding to the weirdness.
Then with everyone wrapped up in their solo pursuits, each of the 4 of us here welcomed in 2012 in a different room, the kids in their bedrooms, my spouse taking a bath (she has a bad cold and was looking for relief) and I was sending a Happy New Year's text out....lol
Even my phone wasn't immune to all this weirdness. I snapped a picture on New Year's eve and when I tried to send it, the picture had disappeared and I had to take it again. Not a good day for electronic devices at Whippingpost Estates. Not even Whippingpost Estates was spared, with the winds today gusting over 45 mph some of the Christmas lights I was going to take down tomorrow came down today on their own.
Of course, now tonight my daughter's computer is charging again, the iPod docking station is working again and my iPod is fully charged. Weirdness I say. At least I didn't sprain my ankle, complete with ligament damage, like poor Mrs. Thang **Kata.** * I'll take some electronic weirdness over that!
Brian AKA Whip 007 1/1/2012.
Tonight I felt like adding music to my post, so I've chosen the song that is currently the ringtone on my phone, although not this version. This version is decent, but I think they placed the mics a little too close to Elvin Jones drumkit. The name of the song is "Afro Blue" composed by Mongo SantamarĂa and played here by the John Coltrane quartet, Coltrane on sax, Elvin Jones on drums, McCoy Tyner on piano, and Jimmy Garrison on bass.
happy new year brian!
